BEFORE PURCHASING IRON ON BACKING..... PLEASE READ
-----------------------------------------------------------------

While the thick 5mil iron-on backing is said to be permeant by the manufacturer, I always only consider it temporary and generally do not recommend it due to this fact.  It works fairly well, but in my experience is not the best way to attach patches.  Sewing is always the most secure and long lasting.  Hook and Loop next.  Then iron-on if the other options are not an possible.

To apply the patch using the iron on backing - 

• Preheat the garment
• Lay the design in the desired position and cover with a clean release sheet.
• Heat seal at 340 deg.F for 12 seconds at medium to firm pressure.
  
• Note: On heavier fabrics like those I make the patches from, longer times
  are required, up to 60 seconds in some cases. Please test on scrap
  material to determine whether the bond is good.
• The cover sheet may have some residue on it after heat sealing. After it cools,
  the residue can be wiped away.
